Ciao belli,

Come state? How are you?
I am still on vacation, so this newsletter was written a few weeks ago because I had to share something with you, something I'm quite sure you'll enjoy as I did.
On an end-of-July Saturday, Luca, our friend Ugo, and I, probably the last souls left in the city, sheltered from the heat in the Scuderie Del Quirinale for a photographic exhibition about Italy's past and present. Here are my favorite pics - all from the past.

For some pictures, I have something to say. For others, I just want to share their beauty and significance.

ORTIGIA'S SIMPOSIO

ORTIGIA'S SIMPOSIO
Simposio's Ortigia is an ancient terracotta pot filled with everything from Ortigia, Noto, Marzamemi, and Pachino (Sicily, Italy): a slow travel guide, a cookbook, and a photography book. Plenty with food and fish markets, history, Greek theaters, duomos, cathedrals, cooking inspiration (recipes), traditions, and things to do and see.

If you stumbled upon this newsletter for the first time...
My name is Claudia. I am a digital artisan, curator of the Simposio travel cookbook series, maker of Gourmet Project, an Italian food, travel, and culture website, and life-in-Italy narrator through this newsletter.
I live in glorious Rome. I love pasta, "melanzane alla parmigiana," hats, suitcases and airports, Christmas, and books.
Through this weekly correspondence, I aim to share what living in Italy truly feels like. Of course, this is my point of view: the neighborhood where I live, the places I go to, the food I eat, and the trips I take. I try to broaden it by recounting traditions, asking the people I meet, and time-traveling through my memories or those of the Italians around me. Hoping this will be entertaining, informative, and, most important of all, authentic!
Enjoy your read!
