Claudia Rinaldi

Ciao, Italophiles!

My name is Claudia Rinaldi. I live in Rome. And I love Rome!

Welcome to Gourmet Project.

This is the place where I began exploring the endless culture of my country, where I learned innumerable tiny little things that, together, make Italy so unique, so diverse, and so unforgettable.

It’s also where I invite you to a symposium.

If I could travel through time, I’d set a table every twenty years. I’d pour generous glasses of wine, serve delicious food, and gather around it everyone I’d met during that day’s wanderings through Italy. Then I’d challenge myself and my guests to question the how, when, and why of everything we had seen that day.

But since I can’t (yet) do that, I set a table in different ways.

One becomes a Simposio travel cookbook.

Another is set during the in Inside Italian Culture online encounters.

One is set just before photographing one of my still lifes.

And another, every Sunday, before sending Italian Colors, my letter from Rome.

This is what I have to offer after wandering through Italy (I travel a lot, so I can’t simply say “Rome”). After spending a morning at a market, an afternoon in a museum or a library, or an evening around a table with friends or family—again, usually with plenty of wine. Or, occasionally, a beer.

I take notes—sometimes in a notebook, sometimes on my phone, sometimes only in my mind—and then translate them into books, newsletters, photographs, recipes, and conversations.

Benvenuti in Italia!

Claudia
