INSIDE ITALIAN CULTURE

Private conversations, personalised readings, and a deeper way to experience Italy.

Most people prepare for Italy by booking flights, choosing hotels and making restaurant reservations.

Very few prepare to understand it.

And yet, understanding a place is often what transforms a pleasant holiday into a journey that stays with you forever.

But you don’t need to be planning your first trip to Italy to want to understand it more deeply. You may be returning for the tenth time, living here, reconnecting with your Italian heritage, or simply fascinated by the country from afar.

Inside Italian Culture is a personalised one-to-one experience for people who want to go beyond the obvious and explore Italian culture through its stories, traditions, food, rituals and everyday life.

“What I found most valuable was getting tailored insight into Italian culture from a real person.”

A Different Way to Prepare for Italy

This is neither an Italian language course nor a traditional travel planning service.

It is a private cultural experience designed around you.

Before we meet, I prepare a short reading based on your interests: perhaps a place, a tradition, a food ritual, a historical curiosity, or something about Italian life you have always wanted to understand.

The reading becomes the starting point for our conversation.

From there, we let curiosity lead us.

We might move from Sicilian traditions to family rituals, from Neapolitan coffee to the unwritten rules of an Italian bar, from Renaissance Florence to what Italians actually eat at home.

Because Italian culture is deeply regional, endlessly layered, and much more interesting than a list of things to see.

WHAT WE MAY EXPLORE

Every conversation is different.

Depending on your interests, we may explore Italian customs and traditions; regional food culture and how Italians really eat; the stories behind places, objects and rituals; everyday life in Italy; local celebrations and seasonal traditions; books, films and music; art, artisans and regional identities; or simply the questions about Italy you have never found a satisfying answer to.

If you are travelling, we can naturally connect all of this to the places you are going to experience.

If you are not, Italy itself is more than enough of a subject.

HOW IT WORKS

When you book, I’ll ask you a few questions about your interests and what draws you to Italy.

If you are travelling, tell me where you are going. If you live in Italy, tell me what you would like to understand better. If you are an Italophile, tell me what fascinates you most. If your interest comes from your Italian heritage, tell me where your family story begins.

From there, I’ll choose a subject especially for you.

Before our conversation

You’ll receive a short personalised reading to enjoy before we meet.

I may also include a few words, references or details that will help open up our conversation.

During our conversation

We’ll meet privately online for one hour.

There is no lecture and no fixed script. The reading gives us somewhere to begin, but the conversation can develop naturally according to your questions and interests.

And if you speak—or are learning—some Italian, we can naturally bring as much of the language into our conversation as feels comfortable for you.

It is always an extra, never the purpose of the experience.

After our conversation

I’ll add notes, recommendations and discoveries from our meeting to your personal PDF.

If we meet more than once, that document grows with every conversation, gradually becoming a cultural record of your own relationship with Italy.

YOUR PERSONAL CULTURAL PDF

Your PDF is not a generic guide to Italy.

It is built around what you wanted to discover.

It may include your readings, cultural notes, books, films and music to explore, Italian words or expressions when relevant, and additional references that emerge from our conversations.

If you are travelling, it can also include a While You’re There section: local foods and ingredients to look for, places or experiences we discussed, cultural details to notice, and ideas you may want to remember once you arrive.

Something to enjoy before Italy — and, when useful, something to take with you.

“The personalised readings were interesting, fun, and immersive into the culture in a way that a Google search just cannot do.”

EVERY RELATIONSHIP WITH ITALY IS DIFFERENT

One person may want to understand Renaissance Florence.

Another may be fascinated by Venice’s food culture.

Someone else may want to explore Sicilian rituals, understand the habits of the neighbourhood they have just moved into, reconnect with the region their grandparents left, or simply spend an hour talking about a country they have loved for years.

There is no standard programme.

Because there is no standard way to love Italy.

IS INSIDE ITALIAN CULTURE FOR YOU?

Inside Italian Culture may be for you if you are curious about the Italy that exists beyond the guidebooks; if you care about understanding regional differences, traditions and everyday life; if you prefer personal insight to generic recommendations; if you are travelling to Italy and want to arrive already knowing how to look at it; if you live here and still find yourself wondering why Italians do certain things; if you are reconnecting with Italian roots; or if Italy is simply one of those subjects you never seem to tire of.

You don’t need to know Italian.

You don’t even need to have a trip booked.

You only need to be curious.

A SMALL PROMISE

I can’t promise that every Italian contradiction will suddenly make sense.

I can’t promise that you’ll never fall into a tourist trap.

And I certainly can’t promise that trains will always be on time.

But I do hope that, after our conversations, Italy will feel a little less like a place you simply visit —

and a little more like a culture you know how to enter.

READY TO BEGIN?

You may already know what part of Italy you want to explore.

Or you may simply have a question.

Either is a very good place to start.

Let’s begin the conversation.
